At Atelier Hats, every piece is crafted with intention, artistry, and a deep respect for tradition. My journey as a hat maker is rooted in heritage, shaped by creativity, and driven by a passion for craftsmanship.
I grew up in a small town in rural Pennsylvania, surrounded by wide-open spaces, farm animals, and a deep appreciation for western culture. My childhood revolved around 4H, where I spent my time showing animals and sewing clothing, immersing myself in craftsmanship from an early age.
Over 50 years ago, my grandparents opened a western shop that became a cornerstone of our community. Today, my mother owns and runs the business, carrying on the tradition of high-quality western wear.
During the pandemic, I returned home to help with the business and had the opportunity to design a collection of custom boots. Seeing our customers connect with my designs was incredibly fulfilling, but I knew boot-making wasn’t something I could take on entirely on my own.
With a background in fine art and experience working in galleries, I wanted to combine my creative side with my family’s legacy. I discovered hat-making—the perfect blend of function, sculpture, and artistry. Hat-making allows me to honor my roots while also expressing my individuality as an artist.
I create a hat from start to finish with my own two hands, shaping each piece into something that reflects both artistry and tradition, crafting one of a kind hats that reflect each customers unique individuality and personal style.
This journey is more than just making hats—it’s about continuing a legacy while shaping my own path by blending traditional millinery techniques with modern design aesthetics to create unique, custom pieces that withstand the test of time.
